Networks in Biodiversity Research — Workshop 3-4 December 2012

# Background

In an ecosystem, various organisms interact with each other to form
complicated networks. Understanding the interactions among different
species and their responses to environmental changes is a central
goal in ecology. However, elucidating network interactions and their
responses to environmental changes is difficult due to the lack of
appropriate experimental data and theoretical framework.

The objective of this workshop is to highlight the most recent
advances in network ecology and to discuss how they might be applied
to ongoing studies of ecology and biodiversity at IGB. This includes
the design and analysis of laboratory, mesocosm, or field studies,
as well as the analysis of existing data sets (e.g. long-term data).
